I always wanted to be a radio DJ. When I was a kid in the car I loved listening to the radio, hearing what was next and all these different songs. When I started buying CDs I would play them in the car, and stop and skip through my favourite songs, always trying to make my own radio show. Even now when I’m in my own car I get to have playlists of all different genres and moods. So, when I came to Sheridan this year and found out there was a radio show, I was excited. After a few meetings, we decided on a theme and idea for my show, “Sam Stays Inside”. The idea of the show was based on those car rides as a kid, getting to play music I really liked for other people.
My name is Elmira Persaud and I am currently a Photography student here at Sheridan. Last year I decided to join the Radio Club and, fast forward to present day, now I am basically a photographer turned food podcast host turned music journalist! Thanks to Sheridan Life Radio, I got the amazing opportunity to interview the Kents and the Valley during Frosh.
